25th anniversary at Culimeta
On 01th July Ulla Rusch from Quakenbrück looked back on 25 years collaboration with Culimeta. In 1986 Ulla started working as maternity cover at the plant in Ankum- after that, beginning in the 90s she worked in the Bersenbrücker knitting department. Since the new building and the relocation of the braiding department in 2000 from Mölln to Bersenbrück, Ulla Rusch is working as shift supervisor for the braiding, knitting and winding areas. These operations are, among other things, important for the production of high temperature resistant stove gaskets.

NEUNKIRCHEN, mayor meeting in the town hall of Neunkirchen. Together with the company for business development, the town managed to realise one of the biggest settlements of the past years. The company Culimeta GmbH & Co. KG is a global market leader for textile technology and will establish it's 10th production plant in the industrial area Ochsenwald in Wellesweiler. Especially the WFG-Managing Director Klaus Häusler was glad that it was possible to market the biggest detached factory building. „The building was untenanted since 2007“, said mayor Jürgen Fried, enthused of the coup at the end of the year.

Fried explained that the administration will assist Culimeta wherever it will be possible. „The town is really business-friendly“, explained the mayor and added: „and the people of Neunkirchen are really hardworking.“
First Culimeta will provide approximately 50 new jobs in Neunkirchen, whereat circa 20 will be relocated from the company Theobald in Zweibrücken to Neunkirchen. The company has been taken over by Culimeta in July. As the hall in Zweibrücken is not big enough, Igor Theobald will move with his employees to Saarland.
„In the past, we realised that the capacities were quickly exhausted“, explained Mr Cuylits. At his company the machines are the important investments, not the employees. To be in a position to manufacture the products, Culimeta needs advanced machinery.
Culimeta is manufacturing textile glass products, non-combustible glass fibre products. In doing so, Culimeta is especially supplying the vehicle industry where, among others, these products are used as exhaust pipe gaskets. The products are also used for the fire protection, for the electrical industry as well as for the marine. […]
The location in Neunkirchen is of interest for Culimeta, particularly due to its close proximity to large motor vehicle producers. Culimeta is already collaborating with the company Eberspächer, (also located in Neunkirchen) which was another decisive factor. This applies also to Bosch Emission Systems, which could recently be established.
After the winter the relocation will take place. By then the technics will be installed, so that there won´t occur a shutdown.

The business activities are containing own research, development and marketing of fire protection products and systems, consulting services and support concerning the implementation with the respective production flow.
Due to the increased standards of fire protection in many areas (e.g. for the building industry) over the past years, there is an increased demand particularly for environmentally friendly fire protection products.
First, fire protection masses are applied to different support materials. These products should, for example be used as a protection or rather barrier coating under decor surfaces in the interior area (dry wall/ acoustic elements). Further business markets are producer of foam materials as well as the aircraft industry.

2008: 50th anniversary of Culimeta – “a European success story“
This year Culimeta GmbH & Co. KG celebrated its 50th anniversary. What began in 1926 in Den Haag under the leadership of Henri Cuylits, his son Alfons Cuylits continued in 1958 by founding a sole proprietorship as a trading company for thermo-electric insulating sleeves and glass fibre seals in Monheim. Thus, over the past 50 years a leading high-performance corporate group, which is represented in the European Economic Area and supplies customers around the world with technical glass fibres, has developed.
